Several tasks at this address including painting this little iron gate. Unfortunately the gatepost proved to be utterly rotten. Furthermore, after maybe forty years of hanging on the wall, only one of the three original 3″ wall fixing screws was still just about hanging in there. Fitted a nice new piece of tanalised gate post and a couple of 180 mm M12 through-bolt wall anchors. The kind neighbour promised to make a cap to top off the gatepost since i didn’t have a piece of timber available on my van to make one. That gate and post will be hanging around a lot longer than the occupant or me!
