I really enjoy the vast majority of tasks I end up working on day to day. Even so, every now and then one comes along that’s kinda special. Today was just such a task. Over time this customer had become reticent to walk about in her own garden because it involved venturing down a set of ‘nadgery’ steps from the patio. Furthermore the patio itself had become uneven over the years and represented a trip hazard. It was clear the steps were increasingly challenging for her. Today at the request of her thoughtful son I levelled up three of the large patio slabs and installed a handrail. It was so nice to see immediately how much the handrail meant to her and how confident this lifelong gardener instantly became to go back to visiting her green domain. I almost felt like I’d somehow given her garden back to her.
